Here are five teams that should consider themselves on upset alert for NFL Week 9 of the 2018 season.

Other than maybe the New Orleans Saints defeating the Minnesota Vikings on the road, although that’s not really an upset since both teams are contenders, there weren’t really any over the top surprise outcomes from last weekend. However, when it comes to what NFL Week 9 has in store, there will be plenty of teams to keep an eye on when it comes to being the latest victims of being on the wrong end of the upset.

Over the first two months, the Kansas City Chiefs have made a strong case for being one of the top favorites to win the Super Bowl thanks to Patrick Mahomes II playing at an extremely high level to a point where he could even take home MVP honors. For a player in the middle of his first full season as a starter, that would be quite the accomplishment for a quarterback like Mahomes, and when seeing the weapons he is fortunate enough to work with, it’s going to be difficult to stop the youngster.

Then again, just because Mahomes and company are playing great at the moment doesn’t mean the team won’t suffer a few bumps in the road, including Sunday’s meeting with the Cleveland Browns.

Just the thought of a team like the Browns upsetting the Chiefs sounds ridiculous to consider, but also keep in mind that Cleveland could be playing like a team with nothing to lose following the firing of Hue Jackson. Only time will tell when it comes to seeing whether Kansas City ends up with their second loss of 2018, but before getting into more details about that possibility, let’s take a look at the top candidates that could suffer an upset in Week 9.
