The Seahawks will come up short

The Seahawks are the fifth-ranked total defense in the NFL, but the Chargers have the sixth rated total offense. Both teams are Wild Card contenders and have established quarterbacks. This is going to be a great game, but someone has to lose, and I think the Seahawks will not walk away with the W.

This isn’t a pick I’m making against the Seahawks, but rather one in favor of the Chargers. The offense has just been running so well this year that I don’t think the Seahawks defense will be able to hold it in check all game. Eventually, Melvin Gordon or Keenan Allen will get loose. On the other side of the ball, the Seahawks offense just seems to be so fragile. Even if they have Doug Baldwin back, I don’t know if the offense will be able to score or possess the ball.

The Chargers only losses are against the two best teams in football, while the Seahawks are winning by one or two scores against average teams, with the exception of their demolition of the Oakland Raiders. Then again, everyone is destroying the Raiders this year.

In the end, the game should be close, and with any luck, there will be an epic fourth quarter finish. Honestly though, this will be a one score game that could swing either way, but the Chargers have the advantage going into it.
