As Week 9 of the NFL season arrives, we evaluate potential start or sit candidates in your fantasy football team’s quest to win.

We have officially arrived past the halfway point of football season, which means we are starting to creep down the final stretch of the fantasy football regular season. By now, your fantasy team falls into one of three categories. You are either king (or queen) of your league with one of the top records, a knight stuck in the middle of the pack fighting for a playoff spot, or a lowly peasant that anchors the bottom of the standings.

Fear not, for whatever position you are in, time still rests for you to change your positioning in the playoff picture. With Halloween week among us, some spooky things have happened around the NFL. Golden Tate and Demaryius Thomas find themselves on new teams past the trade deadline, the Los Angeles Rams remain undefeated, and Le’Veon Bell has yet to report to the Pittsburgh Steelers facility (great ghost costume idea for next year).

As spooky as all the above sounds, nothing was scarier than last week’s edition of fantasy start/sits. My correct calls fall far and few between, as a number of my sits (Cam Newton, Deshaun Watson, T.J. Yeldon, Sammy Watkins) decided Week 8 would be the best week to go against yours truly and have themselves great outings. But, like any good fantasy player, we dust ourselves off and move on to the next week.

Week nine welcomes six teams on bye weeks, as the following will not be in action come Sunday: Indianapolis, Cincinnati, NY Giants, Philadelphia, Arizona, and Jacksonville. Case in point, there’s a lot of fantasy talent stashed on the benches, leaving a lot of guessing and maneuvering for the great American past-time of “Who’s going to start on my fantasy team today?”.

Having trouble deciding who to play? Thankfully, a great article has been assembled to give you phenomenal insight with great input on who to start. While this isn’t that article, it’s pretty darn close. So while you’re taking your Halloween decorations down and preparing for the month of November, cozy up on the couch and enjoy this week’s start or sit advice.
