Los Angeles Rams: Jared Goff, players to watch vs. Saints in Week 9
1. Jared Goff
Once again, this is another really obvious but important pick. The guy who holds the key to winning against the Saints is Jared Goff. Goff has handled some of the best defenses in the league, but the Saints bring an entirely new challenge to Goff. Most notably, the team’s defensive line has been aggressive the past few weeks.
Watching how Goff plays against them is the true test. Can Goff get the ball out quick or adapt when need be? Can he perform under pressure and will he utilize guys like Reynolds in a pinch? All of this questions will be answered on Sunday but for now, let’s look at Goff’s stats thus far this season and his last matchup with the Saints.
This season, Goff has thrown 17 touchdowns to five interceptions. His last interception came via the Broncos in early October. Goff has had a great season and similar to Brees, is a contender for league MVP. Looking back at their 2017 meeting, Goff threw two touchdowns and interception. Even so, he still helped the team pull off the win.

Both the Rams and the Saints are completely different teams from last year. They’ve both improved immensely and so has Goff. Goff has faced adversity head-on and if he keeps that attitude against the Saints, there’s nothing to worry about. He just needs to be careful as the Saints will take advantage of every opportunity.
