2019 NFL Mock Draft: Raiders rule post-Trade Deadline, Browns land playmaker
By Randy Gurzi
The Oakland Raiders control this 2019 NFL Mock Draft as they own three picks thanks to the moves made by new head coach Jon Gruden
Things are looking completely different now as we look ahead with our latest 2019 NFL Mock Draft. What’s shaking things up is the Oakland Raiders continuing to make moves to pick up more draft stock.
Not only are they already in line for a top-five pick of their own, but they’ve also now added two other picks on Day 1. The first came when they made a trade just before Week 1 with the Chicago Bears. They shipped defensive end Khalil Mack off in exchange for a first-round pick in 2019 and 2020.
They weren’t done yet as head coach Jon Gruden continued to make moves. This time it was ahead of Week 8 when he decided to move on from another premium talent. This time, he shipped wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Dallas Cowboys for another first-round pick.
There are whispers he’s not done yet as there are other early picks on the block. So who knows how things will look, but as of now, the Raiders have three picks in the first round. Some may think that will lead to a huge turnaround, but the Cleveland Browns had three picks in the 2017 NFL Draft and went 0-16. With Gruden’s history of preferring veterans and not developing players, there’s no telling how it all ends.
With all that being said, we will do our best to predict what will happen with this 2019 NFL Mock Draft. As is always the case, we use our latest NFL Power Rankings for the draft order, which puts the San Francisco 49ers on the clock.
