4. New York Giants: Drew Lock, QB, Missouri

Last draft, the New York Giants tried to convince the world they were fine under center. Most knew better, but they decided to give Eli Manning one more season and used the No. 2 overall pick on Saquon Barkley.

While the player is good, the pick really wasn’t because this team can’t win as they’re currently constructed. They’ve also started their fire sale, albeit not as bad as the Raiders have done. No matter who else they get rid of, they have to do something with this pick — take a quarterback.

Justin Herbert out of Oregon should be the guy, but reports are suggesting he wants to stay back and play next season with the Ducks. The main reason is that his brother has committed to the team to play tight end, and the two want to be on the same team.

If that holds true, the Giants will end up with Drew Lock from Missouri. This is no consolation prize as Lock was considered the best in the draft for much of the first few weeks of the season. His fall behind Herbert was more on what the Oregon product has been showing.

Lock has the size and arm strength to make it at the next level and his mentality is also right where you want it. The Giants have to hope he can come in and make people forget about them passing on Sam Darnold quickly.
