The Dallas Cowboys failed to defend the star on Monday Night Football, falling to their fifth loss of the season, and leaving more questions than answers.
There wasn’t mush to celebrate for the Dallas Cowboys following their loss 28-14 loss on Monday Night Football to the visiting Tennessee Titans with the team playing another game of inconsistent football.
The offense failed to take advantage of Titans miscues, while the defense didn’t play their best towards the end of the game, especially allowing the Titans to convert 11-of-14 for 78 percent on third down chances for the entire game.
Dallas failed to gain 300 yards of offense as a team, but did rush for 72 yards on 19 attempts for a 3.8 yards per carry average. The Cowboys were also just 1-of-4 in the red zone in the loss.
The Cowboys didn’t make very good decisions at varying times throughout the game, as at one point Dak Prescott threw in double coverage in the end zone to Amari Cooper, and in the second half, the Cowboys went for a wide receiver pass from Cole Beasley to Prescott which failed as well.
A lot of this game went more towards the negative for the Cowboys, with the team falling to 3-5 overall. The next five games on the schedule won’t bring any breaks in the foreseeable future as they face the Philadelphia Eagles (twice), along with the Atlanta Falcons, the Washington Redskins and the New Orleans Saints.
Being a team which has not even got close to achieving expectations this season, along with a team that no longer has a first round draft pick next year, the Cowboys have dug themselves a hole that night be to much to climb out of. Luckily the rest of the NFC East has had issues as well, still keeping the Cowboys in the race for the top spot in the division.
Following Week 9, here are three takeaways from the 14-point loss to the Titans on Monday Night Football.
