Kansas City Chiefs, Kareem Hunt

Kareem Hunt ran wild on the Cleveland Browns, who actually entered the game as a somewhat formidable run defense. Hunt racked up 91 yards on 17 carries (5.4 ypc) and two touchdowns on the ground, while also adding a 50-yard reception for a touchdown.

His most dynamic play came on that 50-yard score, in which Patrick Mahomes dumped off a beautifully executed screen pass. After the throw, all Mahomes had to do was let Hunt do the rest of the work, as he watched him swivel in and out of traffic en route to the end zone.

After a slow start to the season, Hunt has come on strong as Kansas City’s ultimate do-it-all weapon. Surrounded by Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill, he creates another dynamic that defenses need to worry about. Hunt currently has 995 scrimmage yards and 13 touchdowns on 172 total touches.

Cleveland Browns, Baker Mayfield

There’s certainly been growing pains for Cleveland Browns’ rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield this season. He turned in another up-and-down performance on Sunday, but still managed to throw for 297 yards and two touchdowns on 29-of-42 passing with a 95.0 passer rating. He also threw an interception.

The Chiefs are one of the worst pass defenses in the league, so it wasn’t a surprise that Mayfield was able to turn in the showing that he did. The Browns were also playing from behind the entire game, essentially forcing them to abandon the run game and counting on Mayfield to win the game through the air.

Although the Browns lost by a score of 37-21, there was still plenty of good to takeaway from this game. Mayfield’s continued emergence as a franchise quarterback is one of them.
