Frank Clark

With 7.5 sacks through just eight games, Clark is on pace to set his personal record for sacks in a season, and it won’t even be close. At this point Clark is performing on a borderline Pro Bowl level with only his lack of tackles holding him back from matching the other top players at his position.

The last time the Seahawks and Rams faced off Jared Goff wasn’t even sacked once and the Seahawks recorded just two quarterback hits all game. As a result, Goff comfortably threw for 321 yards. The Seahawks defensive front cannot allow Goff to get that comfortable in round two.

The Rams just have too many weapons in the passing game to allow the quarterback to stand back and survey the field. Clark and his running mate, defensive tackle Jarran Reed, need to put the squeeze on Goff. After all, the Rams young star quarterback isn’t even that mobile. If the pass rush comes after him, he won’t be able to avoid it.

In the Rams most recent game Goff wasn’t sacked at all and he threw for 391 yards and three touchdowns. That’s the kind of fire power that the offense has if Goff has time to sit in the pocket. The Seahawks need to be up in his grill all game long if they’re going to slow down the offense.
