Wide Receivers

Nelson Agholor at New Orleans

2018 Stats: 46 receptions, 455 yards, 1 TD
ESPN Ownership: 49.9 percent

Big expectations were on the plate of newly acquired Golden Tate, yet Tate failed to deliver in his Eagles debut, catching a mere two passes for 19 yards. Yet Nelson Agholor was the one to step up last Sunday night, catching five passes for 83 yards. Admittedly so, he hasn’t been consistent in 2018 (only double-digit weeks strung together were weeks one and two), yet fortunes may change as the Eagles fly to New Orleans in what is likely to turn into a pass-heavy contest.

Agholor has fared well in these games, recording at least eight receptions against the Falcons and Buccaneers earlier in the season. Tate is still learning the playbook and doesn’t appear to be a factor until proven otherwise, and with how porous the Eagles have been against top competition, Carson Wentz may need to throw often to keep Philadelphia’s offense on the field. With Alshon Jeffery likely to draw the assignment of Marshon Lattimore, Agholor’s matchup becomes promising due to potential game flow and volume.

Anthony Miller vs. Minnesota

2018 Stats: 24 receptions, 332 yards, 4 TD
ESPN Ownership: 13.3 percent

Anthony Miller finally saw the breakout game everybody was waiting for in Week 10, erupting for a five-reception, 122-yard game with one score as well. Can he capitalize off his best game of the season? That question alone is one stopping fantasy owners from immediately picking him up. Yet we’ll roll the dice with the classic “It’s a tough defensive front so they have to throw, right?” excuse for picking Miller up this week.

It is noteworthy Miller was able to sustain his breakout game alongside Allen Robinson’s two touchdown performance. Can Trubisky successfully spread the ball two weeks in a row? In a slightly weak wide receiver waiver wire week (say that five times fast), Miller perhaps offers the most hope against a Vikings secondary that has been exposed a time or two this season. Put a claim in for Miller in hopes of lightning striking twice in Chicago.
