5. Doug Marrone, Jacksonville Jaguars

On the surface, it seems like Doug Marrone is safe. A year after he led the Jacksonville Jaguars to the AFC Championship game, he seems to carry some sort of security — at least this year.

And yet, can we state that with absolute certainty? There have been stranger firings in the history of the NFL, especially when a suspected contender falls to the bottom of the division. This Jaguars team had loads of potential heading into 2018, but has quickly fallen out of favor due to a five-game losing streak.

If the wins continue to elude Marrone, don’t be surprised if he finds his seat hot enough to cook an egg on.

It’s even worse when you consider the tremendous amount of talent on the Jacksonville roster. This defense is one of the best in the NFL, at least on paper. The offense isn’t quite as stacked, but offers enough upside to be competitive on a weekly basis. And yet, somehow, the Jaguars are rapidly sinking like they have cinder blocks tied to their feet.

People aren’t calling for his job just yet, but the rumbles will get louder and louder with every loss. If Marrone doesn’t stop the bleeding soon and the Jaguars tumble all the way through to the end of the regular season, the head coach will need to spiff up his resume.
