4. Vance Joseph, Denver Broncos

Realistically, Vance Joseph didn’t step into the greatest situation. He took over a team that was still reeling from the loss of Peyton Manning, and John Elway has failed to find the inexperienced head coach a quality replacement under center.

Still, that’s no excuse for the Denver Broncos’ struggles since Joseph’s arrival.

Lauded as an excellent hire who would take advantage of Denver’s immense talent on the defensive end, Joseph has failed to get things going. Not only has the offense flopped, but the defense has underwhelmed as well. You could blame it on the significant amount of departures, and yet it’s a head coach’s job to make the most of what he’s given.

The Broncos’ two-game winning streak to start the year only made things worse. After starting 2-0, folks were talking about Denver as a sleeper in the AFC. Since then, they’ve managed only one win in seven outings and none of their wins have come against legitimate contenders. That type of dramatic ebb and flow certainly hurts public perception.

Joseph was a great hire two years ago, and figured to turn the Broncos’ luck around. However, with his record currently sitting at 8-17, it may be time to bring this experiment to an early end.
