7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Daniel Jones, QB, Duke

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a mess on their hands. Both Jameis Winston and Ryan Fitzpatrick have started under center this season and neither can keep the job. Fitzpatrick started the season on fire as Winston served his suspension for being accused of groping a female Uber driver. That led to him taking the former No. 1 pick’s job for good.

Then Fitzpatrick remembered he was a journeyman vet and lost his job to Winston. However, Winston quickly reminded us how much he loves throwing to the other team. That meant Fitzmagic was back> Sadly, his last start was Fitztragic, which means maybe Winston should come back?

Really, neither one is the answer. And for those holding out hope on Winston, he can’t beat out Fitzpatrick, so that’s all we need to know. Head coach Dirk Koetter will likely be gone in 2019 (thanks in large part to this quarterback fiasco) and his successor will want their own guy.

Enter Daniel Jones from Duke. Jones has great size at 6-5 and 220 pounds and continues to impress as the Blue Devils signal-caller. He has shot up boards and the more scouts see of him, the higher he will go. Should Herbert stay in school, Jones could be the top quarterback taken. In this 2019 NFL Mock Draft, however, he goes after Herbert, but is the second at the position.
