The 2019 NFL Draft season is nearly upon us. A few teams are already packing it in for the year, like the New York Giants and Oakland Raiders. But for once, the Cleveland Browns are actually heading into the home stretch of the NFL season with a lot of hope.
The Browns are a much improved squad this season, and their youngsters are actually leading the charge into the future. Quarterback Baker Mayfield, cornerback Denzel Ward, and running back Nick Chubb have been studs this season. Rookie edge rusher Genard Avery has come on strong, and the Browns have started to excel on both sides of the ball in the past couple of weeks.
And yet, the Browns still have holes.
Sure, they are actively crawling their way out of the basement of the league, but they still have a lot of work to do. Under interim head coach Gregg Williams and interim offensive coordinator Freddie Kitchens, the Browns have made strides towards looking like a bona fide “pretty good” NFL team.
So, as the Browns attempt to build themselves into legitimate playoff contenders in 2019, they need the upcoming NFL Draft class to unfold in their favor. There are still a few holes to address on Cleveland’s young, up and coming roster.
