The Kansas City Chiefs fell short against the Rams in a Monday Night Football thriller. Who were the key performers in this memorable loss?

It was the third-highest scoring game in the history of the NFL. It was also the first time that both teams in one contest reached the 50-point mark. Apparently, someone had to lose and that team proved to be the Kansas City Chiefs.

For just the second time in 11 outings this season, Andy Reid‘s team came up three points short against one of the top teams in the league. That’s not to take anything away from what this team has done this year. And that’s because when you consider that the Chiefs scored a combined 91 points in the losses to the New England Patriots (43-40) and Los Angeles Rams (54-51), you get an idea of just how good this Kansas City team is — at least on the offensive side of the football.

Things didn’t start out well for the AFC West leaders. After one quarter of play, the Chiefs had produced seven points and 92 yards of total offense. But Reid’s team had also been flagged an astonishing eight times for 82 yards. Meanwhile, the Rams went down the field three times and gained 170 total yards after 15 minutes of action.

But before you knew it, Patrick Mahomes and company had the lead and it was just the beginning of a wild affair. When it was all said and done, the club couldn’t stop Rams quarterback Jared Goff and Sean McVay’s attack down the stretch.

Yes, the Chiefs’ record slipped to 9-2. But the club still maintains a two-game lead in the AFC West over the 7-3 Los Angeles Chargers. So, who stood out the most for Reid’s team in this back-and-forth affair?
