2. WR Brandin Cooks

It’s somewhat odd to talk about the Los Angeles Rams winning a game, scoring 54 points and not having running back Todd Gurley be the focal point of the victory. He finished the evening with 44 yards on the ground, 39 yards on three catches and failed to score a touchdown.

By game’ end, Sean McVay’s club ran the ball just 21 times for 76 yards. Both the Rams and Chiefs failed to crack the 100-yard mark on the ground and this contest became about the aerial attack.

Yes, Rams’ quarterback Jared Goff threw for 413 yards and four scores, two of those to tight end Gerald Everett. The latter finished with three grabs for 49 yards and those two touchdowns. But it was wide receiver Brandin Cooks that was Goff’s favorite target in this shootout.

The well-traveled performer, with his third team in as many season, was thrown at 12 times and caught eight passes for 107 yards. It hasn’t been a big year for Cooks in terms of finding the end zone and he didn’t score against the Chiefs. For the season, he and Robert Woods are now tied for the club lead with 59 receptions. But Cooks has now totaled a team-best 964 yards and owns an impressive 16.3 yards per grab.
