As we get ready to enjoy the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day, we look at five things from the 2018 Season to be thankful for

We are just about to the Dallas Cowboys annual Thanksgiving Day game, and this year there are some big stakes up for grabs. The Cowboys have reeled off two huge road wins in a row and now head back to AT&T Stadium where they’re 3-1 on the season.

They’re also playing for first place as they’re a game behind the visiting Washington Redskins in the NFC East. Just a couple short weeks ago, that seemed like something that wouldn’t be possible.

Dallas dropped a heartbreaking game to the Redskins in Week 7, Dallas headed to the bye week at 3-4. They then played the Tennessee Titans on Monday Night Football and were beaten by a score of 28-14, but it felt so much more lopsided than that score indicates. At 3-5, things felt bleak and the Cowboys looked prime for an implosion.

Somehow, hey shook that off and have scored two huge wins in a row. They beat the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles in Week 10 and followed that up with a last-second win over the Atlanta Falcons. Now sitting at 5-5, things feel much different for Dallas.

So now, the game against Washington feels like it could decide the rest of the season. They will be facing a team ravaged by injuries — including an unfortunate and ugly broken leg suffered by quarterback Alex Smith. Dallas should be the favorite for their annual holiday game, which fans have to be thankful about.
