The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off their worst loss in recent history. Good news for them is they get to face the lowly Giants in hopes of a rebound.

The Philadelphia Eagles are facing a low-point that they haven’t seen since Chip Kelly was the head coach. At 4-6, their chances of making the playoffs are very slim. The leaders on the roster are calling out teammates to take more accountability. Basically, what could go wrong, has gone wrong this season.

Which leads us to Week 12 of the regular season where the Eagles face the only team in the NFC East who has a worse record, the New York Giants.

This matchup could be exactly what the doctor ordered for the Eagles. The first time these two teams faced each other was back in Week 6, the Eagles went to MetLife Stadium and won, 34-13, in what has been their most convincing victory all season.

At the time, that game was believed to be the jump-start the Eagles needed. Unfortunately, since then, the Eagles have gone 1-3, with the offense only averaging 17 points in those four games. The Eagles will be hosting this matchup and many people feel that the result will be similar to their Week 6 clash.

The Giants, surprisingly, have won their last two games against San Francisco and Tampa Bay. Those aren’t exactly two juggernaut teams, but at least the Giants have done something the Eagles haven’t been able to do all season — win two games in a row.

On paper, the Eagles should still win this game easily. The Giants offense has Odell Beckham Jr. and Saquon Barkley. They don’t have much else after that. Their defense has been one of the league’s worst. After all, they did give up 34 points to an Eagles offense that hasn’t managed to score 30 points in any other game this season.

For the Eagles this week, their pride is on the line. They were embarrassed and run off the field last week in New Orleans. If this team has any fight left, they will have to show up and win a game in front of their home fans.

If the Eagles end up losing to the lowly Giants this week to fall to 4-7 then it’s time to move onto 2019 and start looking at draft boards. Here’s to hoping that this team can muster up it’s old self to get back in the win column.
