NFL Draft: Grading each 2018 first-round pick after Week 11
By Randy Gurzi
21. Cincinnati Bengals: Billy Price, C
An Ohio State star, center Billy Price was unfortunately injured during the NFL Scouting Combine. He partially tore his pectoral muscle and there was concern he could slide out of the first round because of this. That didn’t happen as the Cincinnati Bengals made him the No. 21 pick as centers went back-to-back with Price following Ragnow and Price stayed close to his collegiate home.
The move was good for Cincinnati because most had Price as the No.1 center in the draft. He was able to overcome that injury and start Week 1. He hasn’t been able to stay on the field though as a foot injury suffered in Week sidelined him for the majority of his first season.
Price has since come back, but has still only played in four of the Bengals games this season. As for the team, they’re still in the mix for the postseason and can use all the help they can get. They do look better when Price is on the field, but he needs to get into a good rhythm with his teammates and that’s hard to do from the sideline. He will be fine long-term, but this season has been a frustrating one.
