7. Buffalo Bills: Josh Allen, QB

The third quarterback taken this year was Wyoming’s Josh Allen. Scouts were all over the place on this kid with many turned off by his wild inaccuracies whereas others were impressed with his cannon for an arm and above-average athleticism.

When the Buffalo Bills took him at No 7, it seemed like he would be coming over to learn the ropes of the NFL from the sideline. That didn’t happen though as both A.J. McCarron and Nathan Peterman were unable to win a starting job — and both are gone now.

Allen started out the season slow but did lead them to a win over the Minnesota Vikings as well as the Tennessee Titans. In the win over Minnesota, he really did damage with his legs as he went for 39 yards and two touchdowns.

Despite showing off his wheels, Allen has a lot to work on. He hasn’t played since Week 6 and in his last two appearances, he had 82 and 84 yards passing. Those numbers are less than ideal, but he’s 2-3 as a starter on a team with a pretty rough roster. There’s hope, but you would like to see improvement soon, especially considering how high he was taken.
