24. Atlanta Falcons (24)

What on earth has happened to the Atlanta Falcons over the last couple of weeks? A few weeks ago, the Falcons were viewed as one of the hottest teams in the NFL as a result of their three-game winning streak, only to eventually go on to lose three in a row, with the latest coming on Thanksgiving against the New Orleans Saints.

Despite the Saints being heavy favorites, the Falcons have to be kicking themselves over how this one turned out when seeing how many times the offense was on the verge of scoring before finding a way to record a costly turnover. Not even an impressive outing by Julio Jones (11 catches for 147 yards) was good enough for Atlanta in this one, as the team now sits three games below .500 along with a difficult path in the NFC just to have a fighting shot at a playoff spot.

The Falcons are never going to be in position to win games when Matt Ryan is the leading rusher with 16 yards, and if this team misses out on the playoffs, they will only have themselves to blame. Talent wise, Atlanta was in great position to make a run at a trip to the postseason for a third year in a row, but signs as of now make it seem like they’ll be watching from home come January.
