NFL Power Rankings, Week 13: Cowboys, Seahawks heating up at perfect time

32. New York Jets (28)
With all due respect to the New York Jets, this season is going to look like a lost cause until Sam Darnold is healthy enough to return to the starting lineup since the most important factor from this year is giving their young quarterback as much experience as possible. Similar to a few other teams on this list, the Jets have desperately looking for a quarterback to build the franchise around prior to 2018, and even though Josh McCown’s performance against the New England Patriots wasn’t terrible, it still won’t be helpful in the long run.
A little bit over a month ago, New York seemed like a team that could cause some unexpected problems in the AFC following back-to-back wins over the Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts. Since that surprise two-game winning streak, however, the Jets have lost five games in a row, as this team has been held to 17 points or less in each contest.
If that didn’t seem frustrating enough, it should also be noted that New York’s upcoming schedule makes it seem like they may not even win another game for the remainder of the 2018 season. As for what this could mean once Darnold gets healthy, well it will be interesting to see what the Jets decide to do since any action by the rookie would only be conducted for experience.
