With the Dallas Cowboys set to play the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football, DeMarcus Lawrence decided to show off his confidence

Heading into their big Thursday Night Football game against the New Orleans Saints, there have been a couple members of the Dallas Cowboys unafraid to show their confidence.

Riding a three-game winning streak, the sudden leaders of the NFC East know that they’re seen as the underdogs against the offensively-gifted Saints, but they’re heading in with the right attitude — even if some of the bravado sounds over the top.

While some like Dak Prescott simply said that Dallas should go into this game without fear, defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence upped the ante. Not only did he call the game “life or death,” but he also had a rather NSFW take on how the Cowboys will set the bar for intensity in this one.

"“They’re going to have to match our intensity,” Lawrence said via Jon Machota of The Dallas Morning News. “[Expletive], for 60 minutes straight, if you hit a [expletive] in the mouth and then they ain’t doing what they’re regularly doing, putting up 50 points, they start to get a little distressed. Now, you got them where you want them at, and then you [expletive] choke their ass out.”"

Usually, such a statement provides bulletin-board material for the opponent, but coming from someone like Lawrence, it feels like there’s some weight behind it.

Playing on the franchise tag after a breakout season in 2017, Lawrence has been impossible to block this season. He leads the team with 8.5 sacks and even has an interception on the season.

He’s gone out each and every week and set the tone for how the defense will play. And that’s exactly what he plans to do this Thursday. Albeit, the Saints have an extraordinary offensive line this season, but Lawrence isn’t worried about that at all.

It’s also fun when players decide to open up and give responses that aren’t the cliché rehearsed answers. Lawrence speaking it makes things more fun, which means he needs to keep saying how he feels, it’s not the norm in Dallas, which is nice.
