4. Richard Rodgers, Philadelphia Eagles

At just 26 years old, Richard Rodgers will enter free agency for the second time in as many seasons this coming year. And for whatever reason, he made no noise at all this past offseason as he signed a modest one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles.

With the Eagles, he’s not been able to do much of anything. As of the start of Week 13, he’s appeared in just two games thanks to a knee injury and has yet to see a pass come his way. That’s a far cry from where he was a few short years ago.

Rodgers was looking like a rising star in the NFL during his time with the Green Bay Packers. A third-round pick in 2014, Rodgers became a red zone threat while working with quarterback Aaron Rodgers. As a second-year player, Rodgers had 510 yards receiving and eight touchdowns off eight receptions. Then, for some reason, the Packers started getting free agent happy.

For each of his final two seasons — and this past one after Rodgers left — Green Bay has brought in a much more high=profile name, only to see them fail to match Rodgers’ performance.

Should Dallas be interested, they could get Rodgers at a discount as the Eagles did. And with him still being very young, he could rediscover some of what he showed early in his career.
