6. New York Giants: Drew Lock, QB, Missouri

A couple wins over the past few weeks have helped the New York Giants image, but it hurt their chances at landing the best quarterback in the 2019 NFL Draft. And yes, they absolutely have to go with a signal-caller here.

No one can rip them for landing Saquon Barkley any longer. While Sam Darnold could have become their starter, Barkley has been fantastic. Now, they just need to make things right and find the heir to Eli Manning who has shown that he still makes far too many poor throws even if his stats don’t accurately reflect that.

With the Jaguars leapfrogging them in this mock, New York has to settle for the second-best gun-slinger. They get Drew Lock from Missouri here, but he’s no consolation prize. For a while, Lock seemed to be the better option of the two. His pro potential is great as he can make all the throws and has ideal size for the job.

Of course, this could also change based on Herbert’s decision. Should he stay at Oregon, Lock suddenly becomes the No. 1 choice under center. It’s not the best class for quarterbacks, so a team like the Giants would have to likely make a move in order to get a sure-thing to replace Manning.
