San Francisco 49ers vs. Seattle Seahawks: 3 Bold predictions for Week 13

The Seattle Seahawks are in the hunt for a wild card spot and could easily rise to the sixth seed with a win and some luck this week.

The Seattle Seahawks got a crucial win last week that put them one step closer to a wild card spot. While they’re still technically in the hunt and nothing is secure, Seattle is leading the hunt.

With a win and Minnesota Vikings or Washingtons Redskins loss, the Seahawks will officially be in a playoff position. But for now, they’re playing against the 2-9 San Francisco 49ers in Week 13. Seattle has come way too far to possibly lose to the 49ers, who have been starting their third quarterback this season, Nick Mullens.

Luckily for the Seahawks, they get to play the 49ers twice before the season ends. Those should be two easy wins for Seattle. With any luck, the second halves of the games won’t even be necessary to watch because the Seahawks will be winning by so much. That might be asking for too much though.

Either way, hopefully these potential storylines will make Sunday’s game will be a little exciting.

Richard Sherman will intercept Russell Wilson

I like revenge stories. It’s usually hard for a cornerback to get revenge on his former team, it’s much easier for offensive players or pass rushers, but Sherman is Sherman. He’ll find a way to make an impact in this game, and I can’t wait to see what he’ll do.

Sherman has already made some comments about his relationship, or apparent lack thereof, with Wilson ahead of the game. ESPN’s Nick Wagoner recently wrote an article in which he quoted Sherman saying, “I don’t really have a relationship with Russell”. Sherman has never been one to hold back when discussing his feeling or answering questions by the media.

When a reporter mentioned what Wilson was capable of, Sherman was quick to remind everyone that Wilson has had his fair share of bad games,

"“I’ve also seen him throw five picks in the game, so you see what he’s capable of on both sides of it”."

He didn’t mention the interception that cost the Seahawks a potential second Super Bowl ring, but that’s the first thing that comes to mind for many. Apparently, the fiery cornerback and his former quiet quarterback haven’t been in contact since Sherman left the team. Frankly, that’s not surprising at all.

Wagoner’s article also included a few comments from Wilson about Sherman as well, although his were full of praise. Wilson called Sherman a “Hall of Fame corner” and acknowledged how much Sherman meant to Seattle. Wilson has never been one to criticize current of former teammates. He actually rarely says anything that’s surprising or headline worthy, so this response isn’t surprising either.

He and Sherman are almost polar opposites when it comes to how they present themselves to the media. But that just makes this matchup even more interesting.
