Atlanta Falcons (4-8) at Green Bay Packers (4-7-1)

Sunday, December 9, 1PM ET

A new era has begun for the Green Bay Packers. Mike McMarthy is no longer the head coach after 13 seasons, and this season has essentially been flushed down the toilet. At this point, the Packers essentially have nothing besides pride to play for.

Meanwhile, the Atlanta Falcons have similarly fallen flat this season. They came in as one of the favorites in the NFC, and now stand almost no chance of tasting the postseason. The defense hasn’t played up to its potential, and the playcalling of Steve Sarkisian has been a disaster for much of the year.

So which underwhelming club comes away with the win in Week 14? After careful consideration, I have to go with the Packers in this one.

First, they’ve got Aaron Rodgers on their side. And although he hasn’t been able to earn them too many victories this season, he’s always a threat to shine in close games. Given as neither of these teams has a clear edge, Rodgers figures to play a big part if Green Bay walks away with the W.

Plus, the game is in Wisconsin. As long as the Packers can muster some sort of offense and keep Matt Ryan from running up the score, Green Bay will get a small boost in confidence.

Prediction: Packers win 33-30
