The Seattle Seahawks picked up another win on Sunday against the reeling San Francisco 49ers.

The Seattle Seahawks advanced to 7-5 with a win over the struggling 2-10 San Francisco 49ers in their Week 13 matchup. While the Seahawks were clearly the superior team and the outcome of the game was never in question, the Seahawks defense could have performed better. The offense wasn’t perfect either, but it ran efficiently and effectively.

Another storyline that generated some excitement was Richard Sherman‘s first game against his former team, but things didn’t turn out as I expected them too.

The Seahawks will play the 49ers again in Week 15. That’s a game the Seahawks should be looking forward to. Not only will it give them another W in the win column, but it’ll also serve as a confidence booster in between two tougher games in Weeks 14 and 16.

Seahawks can win with quality over quantity

Russell Wilson threw the ball just 17 times on Sunday. He only had 185 passing yards, which would ordinarily be a very mediocre day. However, Wilson threw for four touchdown passes for the first time this season. Last year we saw a lot of games where Wilson needed to put up big numbers for the Seahawks to even have a chance at winning. That hasn’t been the case this year.

Wilson has led the Seahawks to two other victories when throwing for under 200 yards this season. In an age when the passing game has taken over the league, winning while throwing for that much seems unlikely, yet the Seahawks are making it work. A lot of that has to do with Seattle’s ability to consistently run the ball for roughly five yards per carry, up from precisely four yards per carry last season.
