Wide Receivers

Dante Pettis vs. Denver

2018 Stats: 16 receptions, 314 yards, 4 TD
ESPN Ownership: 2.2 percent

In the last two weeks, Dante Pettis has gone from a quickly labeled “bust” by many 49ers faithful to a potential No. 1 receiver. Pettis earned opportunities thanks to San Francisco’s receiving room claiming victim to the injury bug as of late, with injuries to Pierre Garcon and Marquise Goodwin. As a result, Pettis amassed nine receptions for 205 yards and three touchdowns in his last two weeks.

Regardless of the availability of his fellow receivers, Pettis has proven he belongs among the starts in San Francisco, and should certainly demand targets from Nick Mullens moving forward thanks to his precise route-running and pure speed. Pettis and company will host a Broncos secondary that ranks in the bottom quarter of the league in pass defense, leaving room for optimism Pettis can continue his strong streak.

Adam Humphries vs. New Orleans

2018 Stats: 53 receptions, 606 yards, 5 TD
ESPN Ownership: 41.2 percent

Adam Humphries has arguably been Tampa Bay’s best receiver the last few weeks, providing a consistency only one could dream of off the waiver wire. Since week eight, Humphries has dipped below ten points only once, averaging nearly 17 points per contest during that stretch while riding a three game streak of finding himself in the end zone.

Humphries has registered only one less target than Mike Evans the last three weeks, establishing a solid fantasy presence as Tampa’s number two receiver in a pass-happy offense. Tampa plays host to New Orleans in what is expected to be another shootout that was similar to their week one match-up. With the Saints having one of the friendliest pass defenses, Humphries should easily match his average, if not score higher. Remember the three inevitable’s of life: Death, taxes, and the Buccaneers throwing the football forever and ever.
