Round 3: Bobby Evans, OT, Oklahoma

Round 3 may feel a little early for a tackle, but it’s really not. The Dallas Cowboys have built a great front five, but there have been some serious issues this season. For example, in their last game, there were three starters out of the game hurt.

Travis Frederick has been sidelined all season and Tyron Smith and Connor Williams have also been out the past couple of weeks. With the entire left side full of backups, Dak Prescott has been sacked even more than usual.

Here, Dallas gets themselves a player who can add some depth. Bobby Evans has the potential to be a starter if given time to develop and no team can ever have too many starting-caliber players. Making this pick feel like an even bigger need is the fact that the injuries don’t seem to be slowing any time soon.

As great as Smith has been at left tackle, he missed three games in each of the past two seasons and two so far this year. He’s also struggled with back problems during many of the games he did play.

Dallas doesn’t need to look for his replacement as he’s just 28 years old, but having a backup plan is never a bad idea.
