Round 5: Kingsley Keke, DT, Texas A&M

The Cowboys have done a great job of finding defensive tackles out of nowhere. While they have been unable to get David Irving’s focus right, the former undrafted free agent was plucked off the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad. Then there’s Antwaun Woods, Daniel Ross and Datone Jones, who have all made plays this season for them.

While none have been superstars (although Irving has the potential if he can get on the field regularly) they have all been solid contributors. Here, they find another kid who isn’t on a ton of radars.

Kingsley Keke has 6.5 sacks for Texas A&M and is a good candidate for the one-technique in Dallas. He has his flaws, which is why he’s here in the fifth, but the Cowboys are the right team to turn his strength and natural talent into a solid rotational player.

Round 7: Brandon Fanaika, G, Stanford

The Cowboys are out in the sixth round, which means they stay idle until the seventh. Here they again look to address their issues with health up front by grabbing Stanford guard Brandon Fanaika.

Fanaika is listed at 6-2 and 315 pounds and is a decent pass blocker. Dallas can surely use that out of a backup. He may never become more than a depth piece, but they’ve proven they need some of that.
