Cleveland Browns: 7-Round 2019 mock draft, Vol. 2

With four games left in the season, it’s pretty clear where the Cleveland Browns are as a team and the 2019 NFL Draft could help them become a contender.

The Cleveland Browns have improved dramatically since the firings of Hue Jackson and Todd Haley. That’s great for the team and fans enjoying it, but it’s having an adverse impact on draft position. Currently, the Browns are sitting at 11th pick and may be in line to win a few more games, kind of entrench them in this area of the NFL Draft.

Some players have stepped in and stepped up with their opportunities, but injuries have only served to highlight some of the areas that need improvement. Beyond that, there are just a number of opportunities for the Browns to make areas of their team better. In some cases, that could be average to good and in others it could mean going from good to a level where it could lead them deep in the postseason.

This draft class is all over the place and there’s so much to sort out in terms of declaring underclassmen and smaller school prospects. As a result, Fanspeak was used as a general framework to pick players, but as some ascending players picked simply weren’t on their board currently, a framework is as far as it went.

Given it’s just December, much can and will change between now and the NFL Draft, but things appear to be taking shape, especially since production data for the season is largely finished. So at least that piece of the puzzle is largely in place and it narrows down the field.
