1. This team is finished

A quick look at the NFC playoff picture and you see the Redskins are still in good shape. Looks can be deceiving. This team is done. Washington will be lucky if it wins another game. Not only are the Redskins in trouble at running back, but the injuries along the offensive line, wide receiver and starting cornerback Quinton Dunbar have decimated this team.

On Monday night, left guard Jonathon Cooper — a street free agent signed after starter Shawn Lauvao went down — was injured and is now out for the season. Journeyman right guard Tony Bergstrom was also injured. He is filling in for Pro Bowl guard Brandon Scherff, who is out with a torn pec. Pro Bowl left tackle Trent Williams has played through various injuries, while right tackle Morgan Moses continues to battle through an ankle injury.

Thompson and slot receiver Jamison Crowder returned on Monday. That’s some potentially good news. However, rookie Trey Quinn, who was beginning to show some promise, promptly went on IR for the second time this season and is finished.

It’s almost amazing to see where this team was a few weeks ago and where it sits now. And where they sit now is a team with once-promising playoff hopes that will be sitting at home during the postseason.
