As the Carolina Panthers and Cleveland Browns square off in Week 14, this has suddenly become one of the more interesting games of the weekend. Let’s take a look at five players who should have a big impact in this one.

Just a month ago, the Carolina Panthers were keeping pace with the New Orleans Saints in the NFC South. Staring down the barrel of a playoff spot, they were heading into a Thursday Night Football matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ever since then, they’ve been on a skid, and are the losers of five straight.

Also just over a month ago, the Cleveland Browns had just fired head coach Hue Jackson and offensive coordinator Todd Haley. Their rookie quarterback, Baker Mayfield, looked promising, but hadn’t come into his own just yet. Ever since then, they’ve won a couple of games and despite a loss to the Texans in Week 13, they have some serious momentum right now.

The times, they are constantly a-changin’ in the NFL. The Panthers and Browns are, for better or for worse, two totally different teams from where they were just a month ago. Cleveland and Carolina will meet in Week 14 on the freezing cold shores of Lake Erie.

This feels like one of those games that could swing either way, and the betting line was actually a pick-’em at one point, so Vegas seems to think so too. As with any game that should be close, this one is going to come down to which impact players make the most impactful plays.

Let’s take a look at some of the players to watch in this one.
