A five-game winning streak has the Dallas Cowboys sitting atop the NFC East, but can they run the table to finish 2018 with eight wins in a row?
It’s hard to find a team on as good of a streak as the Dallas Cowboys are on. In fact, thanks to the Houston Texans losing this week, Dallas now has the longest winning streak currently going in the NFL at five games.
After their loss in Week 9 against the Tennessee Titans sent them to 3-5, all hope seemed lost for the Cowboys. What was supposed to be a great season had fallen apart and everyone’s job was in jeopardy. Then they caught fire and are now all alone in the NFC East lead with three games left to play — and instead of asking who will replace everyone next season, we are asking if the Boys can run the table.
Looking ahead at their final three games, it seems very possible that they can do just that. After their second win over Philadelphia on Sunday, they now prepare for a road game against the Indianapolis Colts, followed by a home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and another road game to close out the year with the New York Giants.
Of those three teams, only the Colts boast a winning record at 7-6. Both the Bucs and Giants are currently sitting at 5-8, with their seasons all but over.
Let’s take a look at each game and see what the Cowboys have in store as they aim for three more wins — which would give them an eight-game winning streak, the NFC East title, and an 11-5 record that seemed impossible five weeks ago.
