The Dallas Cowboys scored a huge overtime win in Week 14 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Here are three big takeaways from their victory.

There wasn’t a fingernail left in AT&T Stadium after the way the Dallas Cowboys game went against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 14. The numbers proved that Dallas was the better team as they controlled the clock and dominated Philly throughout the game.

They just couldn’t put it away. Dallas had issues all day with long drives ending in field goal attempts and turnovers. They didn’t even get their first touchdown until the fourth quarter, despite having a total of 576 yards by the time the game ended.

This has been a common theme for Dallas, as they seem to continually be on the cusp of contending. Their defense slows down every offense they face, but their own offense has the hardest time crossing the goal line for six points.

However, they did finally get it figured out in this one as the floodgates opened for both teams down the stretch. Dallas scored 14 points in the last quarter before overtime, and the Eagles added 17. Then in the final period, the Boys added another touchdown which kept the ball out of the suddenly hot Eagles hands.

As for the big picture, Dallas moves to 8-5 on the season with the Eagles and Washington Redskins behind them now at 6-7 apiece. Dallas also moved to 4-1 in their division as they have complete control of the NFC East with only three games to play. That’s what made this game huge for them, and we now look at the three biggest takeaways from this important victory.
