Dallas Cowboys: 3 Big takeaways from win vs. Eagles in Week 14
By Randy Gurzi
2. No Heimlich necessary
There were headlines made when Philadelphia linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill said the Cowboys always choke in December. Dallas shrugged it off, as they should have. Not only was this just a case of a rival talking trash, but it was also incorrect.
Yes, there was a time the Cowboys fell apart in December, but that hasn’t been the case in recent seasons. Adding this win, Dallas is now 7-3 with Dak Prescott as the starter in December, with one loss coming at the end of the 2016 season when starters were pulled.
That means in games they are trying to win, Dallas is 7-2 in the final month. So it’s safe to say the label of ‘choke artist’ is outdated — at least if you’re trying to simply apply a month as the mark for that.
In this game especially, Dallas proved they don’t fold under pressure. With the turnovers and points left on the board, it would have been easy to see them losing this game. However, they didn’t. Dallas just kept moving the ball and in the end, they scored the final points to sweep the Eagles and send them home upset. Now they have full control of the East and only a choke job like Grugier-Hill predicted can save the Eagles now.
