The Chicago Bears may not have a plethora of draft assets to work with, but this seven-round mock draft predicts how the 2019 NFL Draft may play out for them.

It’s been a surprisingly sensational season for the Chicago Bears, who went from bottom of the NFC North barrel to one of the best teams in the NFL. Regardless of how the rest of the season goes, things could get even better in the Windy City after the 2019 NFL Draft.

Although they don’t exactly boast a ton of firepower heading into April’s annual graduation ceremony, the Bears don’t necessarily have a ton of holes to fill. They could use some more depth on the defensive side of the ball, and more protection for Mitchell Trubisky wouldn’t hurt. Overall, though, this appears to be a fairly complete roster.

Then again, the revamped coaching staff deserves a hearty helping of the praise for the Bears’ overnight turnaround. The offensive-minded Matt Nagy has turned a subpar offense into an explosive group of playmakers. As for the defense, Vic Fangio has worked his magic to develop this group into one of the NFL’s best — the acquisition of Khalil Mack was a big boost, too.

Either way, it’s looking like the Bears could go far before this season is in the books. And yet, for the time being, let’s turn our attention to the 2019 NFL Draft.

With that in mind, here’s my take on how the Bears could spend their four current picks when April 25 (or 26, at least for Chicago) rolls around. Keep in mind that this is meant more as a comment on the team’s present-day needs and the stock of the prospects mentioned. Beyond that, don’t look too deeply into it.

Note: The Bears traded their 2019 first- and sixth-round picks in a package to the Oakland Raiders for Mack. They also traded their 2019 second-round pick in a package to the New England Patriots for their 2018 second-round pick (Anthony Miller).
