Buffalo Bills: LeSean McCoy, Kelvin Benjamin

There’s been plenty to be frustrated about this season when discussing the year that the Buffalo Bills have had. A lot of the blame falls on the shoulders of head coach Sean McDermott, who continued to make bad decisions like put Nathan Peterman on the field as the starter.

Eventually, McDermott had no choice but to move on from him — but not before shipping off A.J. McCarron who likely would have been better than not only Peterman but also Derek Anderson who was one of the many players they were forced to turn to while rookie Josh Allen was out hurt.

Still, McDermott isn’t their biggest bust — but we do have a tie. Both LeSean McCoy and Kelvin Benjamin have found a way to underperform mightily this season. McCoy has been the focal point of their offense for years, but this season he’s struggled to get going and has a career-low in yards per rushing attempt.

Part of the problem can be attributed to defenses zeroing in on McCoy. With no passing threat to speak of, McCoy becomes the only player who needs attention. They had hoped Benjamin would fix that problem, but the receiver they acquired at the 2017 trade deadline is already gone as Buffalo let him go recently.

Benjamin landed with the Kansas City Chiefs, but as a member of the Bills, he played in 18 games with only 39 receptions and two touchdowns. This season, he had 23 catches in 62 targets. It was really an ugly pairing between him and the Bills.
