Updated 2019 NFL Draft order: 49ers stay at No. 1 after Week 14
Taking a look at the updated 2019 NFL Draft order following the Week 14 action as the San Francisco 49ers hold on to the No. 1 overall pick.
Though no NFL team will likely admit to tanking, it’s the time of the season when we start to see that. The bad teams have separated themselves after 14 weeks at the bottom of the standings, but the final three weeks of the season are where they need to do their worst, truly, if they want to pick at the best possible spot in the 2019 NFL Draft.
However, several teams that should be picking near the top of the 2019 NFL Draft didn’t do just that in Week 14. The San Francisco 49ers, Oakland Raiders and New York Jets, all of whom are looking for a top-five pick, won this past week. Though they still will pick in the top five, that moves them down and puts them in a precarious position should they win any more games.
In the same vein, the New York Giants keep slipping in the 2019 NFL Draft order as they keep reeling off wins at the end of the season. They now sit at 5-8 and, despite needing plenty of help, are almost falling outside the top 10 at this point.
But what does the entire 2019 NFL Draft order look like after Week 14? Let’s take a look (h/t Tankathon):
- San Francisco 49ers (3-10)
- Arizona Cardinals (3-10)
- Oakland Raiders (3-10)
- Atlanta Falcons (4-9)
- New York Jets (4-9)
- Buffalo Bills (4-9)
- Jacksonville Jaguars (4-9)
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-8)
- Detroit Lions (5-8)
- New York Giants (5-8)
- Cincinnati Bengals (5-8)
- Green Bay Packers (5-7-1)
- Cleveland Browns (5-7-1)
- Washington Redskins (6-7)
- Carolina Panthers (6-7)
- Philadelphia Eagles (6-7)
- Denver Broncos (6-7)
- Miami Dolphins (7-6)
- Indianapolis Colts (7-6)
- Tennessee Titans (7-6)
- Minnesota Vikings (6-6-1)
- Baltimore Ravens (7-6)
- Pittsburgh Steelers (7-5-1)
- Oakland Raiders – via Dallas Cowboys (8-5)
- Seattle Seahawks (8-5)
- Oakland Raiders – via Chicago Bears (9-4)
- Houston Texans (9-4)
- Los Angeles Chargers (10-3)
- New England Patriots (9-4)
- Green Bay Packers – via New Orleans Saints (11-2)
- Kansas City Chiefs (11-2)
- Los Angeles Rams (11-2)
Despite their win, the 49ers still hold the top pick. They could desperately use a player like Nick Bosa, so it would be fantastic for them to stay at that spot. The key to doing so is quite simple: Get back to their losing ways.
