Dallas Cowboys vs. Indianapolis Colts: 3 Players to watch in Week 15
1. Jaylon Smith
The past three games have been standout performances for Dallas Cowboys outside linebacker Jaylon Smith. In his past three games, he’s combined for 24 tackles, one sack and one forced fumble as the Cowboys have won all three of those games.
Smith is becoming the player the Cowboys believed he could be when they drafted him in the second round in 2015 and patiently waited for him to recover from his dreaded knee injury suffered in his final collegiate game.
That patience and perseverance has paid off for the Cowboys in a big way as Smith has totaled 96 tackles, four sacks and two forced fumbles this season. Smith hasn’t had a sack since Week 12, so not only is he due for a sack soon, but the Colts are a team that doesn’t allow many sacks. Andrew Luck has been sacked just 16 times this season, but in the past three games against the Miami Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans, the Colts have allowed a combined six sacks.
Smith is a player to watch this week for the fact he’s been playing at a high level this season, but there is most likely even more for the outside linebacker to offer this defense the longer the season continues.
