The Green Bay Packers have had a disappointing season compared to preseason expectations, but they still have a few players deserving of the Pro Bowl.

It’s Week 16, and the Green Bay Packers‘ record stands at 5-8-1. From being a consensus top five pick to win the Super Bowl in the preseason, to now picking at No. 11 in the NFL Draft (at the moment), no one could have expected how poorly Green Bay has performed.

It’s certainly been nothing short of a disappointing season for the Packers, as the team will officially miss the playoffs for the second consecutive season. But even though it’s been a down year by Green Bay’s standards they’ve still had some spectacular individual performances.

Aside from the inconsistent play that forced their former head coach Mike McCarthy to be let go after the team’s Week 14 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, the Packers have actually had numerous bright spots in 2018.

For starters, defensive coordinator Mike Pettine’s defense has held up extremely well despite the Packers offense putting them in difficult situations. Both Pettine and rookie cornerback Jaire Alexander have been immense in the defense’s turn-around from an abysmal 2017.

On offense, expectations were extremely high at the start of the season. It’s safe to say that many players fell short of those expectations, save for a few names. Because of that, the Packers probably won’t have some familiar faces in this season’s Pro Bowl, namely Aaron Rodgers.

The Packers’ losing record may also play a part in determining which players are selected to the NFL’s annual all-star game. Typically, players from winning teams garner more votes. That said, good players usually find a way to be selected.

Last season, the Packers had two Pro Bowlers selected: Mike Daniels and Davante Adams. Green Bay is bound to have a few new faces this season, and will likely see a repeat or two. The Pro Bowl selection show airs on Tuesday, December 18 at 7:00 pm on NFL Network. With that said, here are the Packers players deserving of a 2019 Pro Bowl nod.
