NFL Pro Bowl 2019: 5 Players undeserving of selection
By Randy Gurzi
The 2019 NFL Pro Bowl roster was announced by the league on Tuesday night. Here are five players who made the initial cut, but probably shouldn’t have.
The 2019 NFL Pro Bowl roster was announced on Tuesday and it was greeted with plenty of criticism. For the most part, people look for the players who weren’t included but should have been.
These snubs are often the main point of contention among fans and some of the biggest names to be called snubs this season include New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara and Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones.
When it comes to the snubs, they can still get in. There’s often a long list of alternates, and the league sometimes goes to a second, and even third, alternate at some positions. Oftentimes, players sit out due to health concerns, while others make it to the Super Bowl and therefore won’t play in the game the day before.
So while these snubs deserve to make the roster, their journey may not be over. That is why we take a different approach here as we look at five players who were named to the 2019 NFL Pro Bowl roster despite not being completely deserving of the nod.
For each one of these players mentioned, it’s not a knock on their skill. These are all solid players — many of whom have put together great careers. However, 2018 isn’t necessarily the year that should have gotten them a spot in the all-star festivities.
