The Dallas Cowboys will need to make some tough decisions in 2019. Here we look at 3 players who should walk in free agency, 3 who should be cut, and 3 who should be re-signed

2018 ended up being a pretty solid season for the Dallas Cowboys, who enter Week 16 looking for a shot to win the NFC East outright. That’s a far cry from where they seemed to be after eight games to start this year.

At that point, Dallas was 3-5 and had just lost in embarrassing fashion against the Tennessee Titans. In that game, they struggled in just about every facet of the game. They couldn’t stop Marcus Mariota, they couldn’t score in the red zone, and kicker Brett Maher had people longing for the return of Dan Bailey.

On top of this, they had just surrendered a first-round pick in a trade with the Oakland Raiders for wide receiver Amari Cooper. The jokes were flying around as the consensus was Dallas overpaid and the offense needed much more than just one receiver to fix their problems.

Then, things started to change. Cooper and Dak Prescott found a rhythm with one another and the entire offense opened up. Ezekiel Elliott had more running room, Prescott looked more accurate, and the secondary receivers were getting open thanks to defenses treating them like secondary receivers.

The result was a five-game win streak that including a sweeping of the Philadelphia Eagles and a win over the New Orleans Saints. Their streak ended in Week 15 as they were shut out in Indianapolis. That loss could have been an eye-opener for them as they need to be on their game each and every week in order to compete.

It also showed they do still have some holes to address, which will have to take place in the coming offseason. Here, we look ahead to that and try to make some tough decisions. With many players needing new deals soon, we look at three players who need to be re-signed, as well as three that should be cut. But first, here are three free agents who they can let walk in free agency.
