Should be cut: Allen Hurns, Wide Receiver
Wide receiver was a huge topic this past offseason for the Dallas Cowboys. The first discussion centered around what they should do with Dez Bryant — who was on the decline and couldn’t build a rapport with Dak Prescott. Dallas elected to move on from him and his $16 million per year salary.

They failed to address the position in the draft and struck out on free agents like Sammy Watkins — but that actually looks like a bullet dodged now. What they wound up settling for was a committee approach with the previously mentioned Tavon Austin and Allen Hurns set to play big roles.
Hurns had come over from the Jacksonville Jaguars and cost the Boys $12 million over two seasons. So far, he hasn’t been playing to that level of play. In 14 games, Hurns has managed just 19 receptions for 246 yards and two touchdowns.
Since Amari Cooper came over, Hurns has become an afterthought and will likely see his time in Big D end after just one season. The money he’s being paid could be used to try and lock Cooper up long-term — not to mention many other players like Prescott, Lawrence, and Elliott who are all set for big paydays as well.
