With just two games left on the schedule, we have the Dallas Cowboys hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Dallas is looking to lock up the NFC East with a game to go, whereas the Bucs are out to play spoiler and make life harder on teams still alive in the playoff race.
Last week was an embarrassment for the Cowboys as they were shut out by a score of 23-0 against the Indianapolis Colts. That game also could have locked up their division as all they needed was one win in the final three games. They entered the contest looking like a team that felt like their season was already decided and the lackluster performance was the result.
Here they aim to be a more focused team, with the Bucs wanting to throw a wrench in their plans to wrap up their division and rest in Week 17. For Tampa Bay, that’s a far cry from where they were planning to be when the season started.
The Bucs are a strong team on offense and they made a few moves on the defensive side of the ball in an attempt to become a stronger team. Not all their moves worked and they’re now just trying to avoid a double-digit losing season as they’re sitting at 5-9.

Dallas can make their Week 17 game meaningless with a win. A loss makes it much tougher as they have to hope for a win over the New York Giants to wrap things up. It’s always better to get the win against the non-divisional opponent than have the must-win game against a team that knows you as well as the Giants do.
