21. Minnesota Vikings: Dalton Risner, OL, Kansas State

The biggest issue this season for the Minnesota Vikings offense this season hasn’t been Kirk Cousins, but it has been the offensive line. Whether blocking for Cousins and giving him time or trying to open up holes for Dalvin Cook and Latavius Murray, the offensive line as a whole has been a travesty that has ultimately held a talent-laden offensive unit back for much of the year. Thus, this pick has to be on the line.

Dalton Risner is the perfect pick for the Vikings considering where they are in the draft order. He could be a tackle right away in the NFL, but has the tool set to move into the interior for the Vikings if they need him to (spoiler: they do). Thus, they have a movable chess piece that addresses their biggest weakness.

22. Indianapolis Colts: Jeffery Simmons, DT, Mississippi State

What Indianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard has done in such a short time in the position has been nothing short of fantastic. With Andrew Luck now back at the helm of the offense, this is the making of a complete team that Ballard is building and they are already competing for a playoff spot. However, there is still room to improve moving forward and that could start up front on defense.

While the Colts have gotten some solid work this season, they could use a game-changer up front and Jeffery Simmons has that type of potential. The lack of overall production for Simmons is somewhat concerning, but the tape that he’s put out there shows a versatile and imposing force at defensive tackle that can change plays by his presence.
