7. Buffalo Bills: D.K. Metcalf, WR, Ole Miss

There are no doubt still viable questions about the Buffalo Bills taking Josh Allen in the top 10 of last year’s draft. While he’s a far better runner than expected at the NFL level, his need to progress as a passer is still fully evident. In fairness to the current rookie though, it’s not like he has a murderer’s row of pass-catchers to help him out, which Buffalo needs to fix.

D.K. Metcalf is the top wide receiver in this class. While he needs to progress as a route-runner due to a limited offense at Ole Miss, the wideout checks every physical box you could ask for from a prototypical No. 1 receiver in the NFL with size, speed and hands. He could be a star and truly help Allen and the Bills offense take a leap forward.

8. New York Giants: Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State

Especially with the New York Giants making a little noise at the end of the regular season, I’ve become increasingly concerned that they are not going to move on from Eli Manning. However, it’s more than apparent that it’s time to do so and to bring in a top-tier quarterback prospect to be his successor. They have their pick in this NFL Mock Draft and land on Dwayne Haskins out of Ohio State.

In his first year as the Buckeyes starter, Haskins shattered school passing records and finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting. He has good arm strength and his footwork and mental processing are quite impressive for his limited experience as a starter. With development, he has the tools to be the next franchise guy for Big Blue.
