Round 5: Hunter Renfrow, WR, Clemson

Cole Beasley will be 30-years old and a free agent in the coming offseason. The Cowboys would love to keep him in town, but the fact is they may need the money to dish out to other players who are younger and need to be extended.

In order to keep Beasley, they may need him to be willing to take a bit less than he could probably get on the open market. Should they lose him, a new slot receiver will be needed — and even if he stays adding an understudy wouldn’t be a bad idea.

Enter Hunter Renfrow from Clemson. The 5-10, 180-pound receiver hasn’t exactly lit up the scoreboards with his career-high in yardage being 602 in 2017. However, he’s a solid route-runner who can make the clutch third-down catches that a slot receiver needs to be able to do in the NFL.

Round 7: Alex Bars, OL, Notre Dame

With their final pick in this 2019 NFL Mock Draft, the Cowboys take Notre Dame offensive lineman Alex Bars. The 6-6, 315-pound Bars has played all over the line for the Irish and can likely do the same in the pros — and any Dallas fan can tell you how much the coaches like positional flex.

Bars has much more talent than a normal seventh-round pick, but a torn ACL and MCL suffered this season could hurt his stock. Dallas doesn’t mind taking a chance here.
