As NFL fans everywhere ring in the New Year next week, resolutions abound in hopes of making the world a better place. Every team in the league should be doing the same, in hopes that their team might improve itself in 2019.
The beginning of a year is a time of self-improvement. As the calendars change, most everyone wants to be a better person. Gyms flood with new memberships and new patrons. Diets start and, almost always, end just as soon as they begin. Families are brought closer together, even if it’s only for a little while. All this, for the beginning of a new year.
So too is the NFL. While the league year doesn’t officially “end” until after the Super Bowl, the NFL still pays attention to the actual calendar. This year, and most other years, the end of the calendar year coincides with the end of the NFL’s regular season. And whether you’re vying for draft position or a Lombardi Trophy, every team can improve in some way or another.
No person, and no team, is perfect. Every NFL team has holes and things that they need to improve on as they go into 2019. Whether it’s a physical goal or an intangible task, every squad has an aspect that they need to improve on.
So, let’s cut to the chase. Every NFL team, from the Oakland Raiders to the New Orleans Saints, should be making a New Year’s Resolution for 2019. Let’s break every team’s regular season down and see what they should resolve to do next year.
